Spirits Bright Q&A

New York Governor Cuomo
Calls for “Spiritual Connection”
During Covid-19 Pandemic

by Debra & Larry Redalia

This morning we were watching a press conference by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo about the the coronavirus outbreak.
At the end of his prepared message [29.52] he said:

The goal for me…

"Socially distanced, but spiritually connected”

How do you achieve socially distanced but spiritually connected?

I don’t have the answer. But I know the question.

Here is our response to Governor Cuomo’s question, which we sent to him today.

Dear Governor Cuomo,

We couldn’t agree with you more regarding your goal of being socially distanced but spiritually connected. Thank you for calling for this in your press conference this morning.
We know how to achieve this.
The first step is to re-state “social distance.” The definition of social is “of or relating to human society.” We are being social when we interact with other human beings in our society. But that’s not what is needed here.
What is actually needed is physical distance, not social distance. We need to keep our bodies distance from other bodies that may have the cover-19 virus, but that doesn’t mean we need to refrain from interacting from other humans.
It is our experience that even when we interact with other humans via shaking hands, hugging, and other physical contact, in actuality, we are always connecting with other people spiritually. It is widely known in our culture now that we humans are composed of body, mind, and spirit. This can be observed at the time of death, when the body exhales it’s last breath and the spirit that makes the body alive departs. Without the spirit, there is no life to the body.
And so, it is the spirit of each person that we interact with on a day-to-day basis. And the way we connect is through communication.
If there is one thing we need more of in today’s world, it’s communication. Not just the communication in our jobs and media and advertising, but personal communication. Real personal communication. How are you feeling? What do you need? How can I help? What are your thoughts/concerns/questions on a subject?
Be vulnerable. Speak openly and honestly about yourself. Say “I love you.”
Listen and acknowledge that you’ve heard what the other person has said.
It’s communication that builds connection and relationship. The more we get to know someone, the more closeness and affinity we feel. And all of this is spiritual connection because we are actually communicating spirit-to-spirit.
Even when we can’t meet face-to-face or hand-to-hand, we can still communicate via telephone, email, text, video conferencing, and the like. No touching involved with any of these communications. What is important is the communication.
The more time we spend communicating the more connected we get.
All we need to do is communicate with each other on personal subjects, and spiritual connection will spread faster than the coronavirus.
Again, thank you for calling for spiritual connection. Spiritual connection just may be the gift of covid-19 that remains long after the pandemic is over.
