Signs of Spirit

Signs of Spirit

Debra & Larry Redalia in 2005, when they started researching and writing about signs of spirit.

In 2005, we became aware that even though spirit is invisible to the eye, it’s characteristics can be observed in ourselves and others.

Signs of Spirit are evidence of the existence of the unseen spirit. They are characteristics that can be observed in ourselves and others. Once known and recognized as coming from spirit, we can choose to activate and cultivate them in ourselves, thus living as spirits in daily life.

We call these characteristics “signs of spirit” because they demonstrate the presence of spirit, just as a heartbeat and breathing our “signs of life” for the body.

We have been writing first-person short stories about our experiences observiing signs of spirit in ourselves and others and also about how we intentionally use these spirit abiities in our daily lives.

Our intent in sharing these stories is to make it more kown in the world that spirit exists and exists in each and every human being in addition to all of Life. Perhaps our stories will inspire you to find these signs of spirit in yourself and others.

Intention is a decision made by the spirit that something IS or IS NOT.

Signs of Spirit Stories about Self-Determination

How I Bypassed the Line at the Big Box Store

On Friday Larry and I decided it was time to set up our garden for the summer.

We have a lot of gophers where we live, so we garden in half-barrels from local wineries, placed on cinder blocks for drainage and filled with potting soil, compost, and manure.

We had purchased four new half-barrels at the end of the season last year, so we needed to buy more potting soil and cinderblocks.

We bought the potting soil at a big box store and then needed to go next door to the big box building materials store to get the cinder blocks.

We could see there was a line to get inside the store because of the coronavirus social distancing.

Finding a Way

One of the major things I have been noticing in the past week, particularly, is a widespread determination to “find a way,” not just to reduce the number of people being infected with covid-19, but to do everything else that needs to be done. Everywhere, people are learning to keep their social distance for their own protection and the protection of others, businesses are retooling and restructuring to provide what’s needed NOW during the crisis, and most people are watching out for each other to make sure everyone gets what they need.

Determination is defined by the dictionary as “firmness of purpose” and “a fixed intention.” It’s not just an intent to do something that may or may not be achieved. No, it is a pointing in an intended direction, with a further intention that the chosen intent WILL happen, no matter what. And it’s spirit that accomplishes this, not our minds, not our bodies. Spirit.

We’re experiencing a widespread opportunity now to survive covid-19, not only to have our bodies survive, but also our families, our friendships, our businesses, our communities, our organizations, our sports games and concerts and movies, and every other part of life.

Above the Stars

When I was growing up, my parents had a great interest in astrology. Not the horoscope column in the newspaper, but real, ancient, honest-to-goodness astrology that is based on the place one is born and the exact minute of one’s birth. They studied astrology quite intensively when I was around eight years old, and consequently I read astrological glyphs as easily as I read the alphabet, and can read a birth chart like a book. So astrology is about as fundamental to my orientation to the world as anything else I’ve ever learned.

Signs of Spirit

We created The Signs of Spirit Project to identify and define the signs of spirit we can observe and to establish a nomenclature for the subject of spirit, written from a spirit viewpoint. We’re finding that some signs of spirit do not yet have English words and we are having to create some words to use in our writing.

Feel free to comment on and ask questions about these words and their definitions.

DEBRA & LARRY REDALIA found each other as soulmates in 1987. Though they each were already aware they were spiritual beings when they met, their spiritual journey really began when they started helping each other discover the characteristics of spirit and put them into practice in daily life. Since 2005, Debra and Larry have been writing Signs of Spirit stories—first person accounts of their true life adventures as spiritual belings. The are co-founders of Spirits Bright and The Signs of Spirit Project.
